16,000 hectares burned, over 1,100 evacuated: Spain's largest wildfire rages on

Spain's largest wildfire of the year has burned approximately 16,000 hectares in the Cinco Villas region.

Over 1,100 people have been evacuated from five municipalities in Zaragoza and one in Navarre.

Authorities are hopeful to contain the fire by Sunday but remain cautious due to highly variable winds.

Roughly 400 ground personnel and 19 aircraft have been deployed, with firefighters focusing on protecting homes in Uncastillo.

Other wildfires are active in Guadalajara and near Lozoyuela, with fire conditions fueled by high temperatures, strong winds, and dry weather.
