At least five people died and 41 remain missing after the ferry KMP Mutiara Sentosa 2 caught fire off Madura Island, Indonesia.
The ferry was carrying around 250 passengers and crew from Tanjung Perak Port in Surabaya to Makassar on Sulawesi Island when the fire was reported.
The vessel was located about 19 nautical miles north of Sapudi Island and was almost completely engulfed in flames.
Nearby vessels, including TB Hasnur 26 and British Mentor, assisted in evacuating passengers who jumped from the ferry.
The cause of the fire is under investigation, and rescue operations are ongoing.
