Bengaluru residents oppose PRR-NICE link road project
Nearly 1,000 families in Bengaluru risk losing homes and sites for a proposed 3 km link road connecting the Bengaluru Business Corridor (PRR-1) to NICE Road at Madavara.
The link road, called the NICE–Tumakuru Road PRR-1 Integration, is being opposed by residents who allege it is pushed through despite widespread opposition.
BDA commissioner P Manivannan said the issue will be placed before the next BDA board meeting, and work will not be awarded until the board decides, maintaining status quo.
Residents cite a precedent: a similar integration linking NICE Road with PRR-1 near Hosur Road was dropped after public opposition.
Affected residents claim compensation proposed by BDA is grossly inadequate, with one site owner saying he paid Rs 35 lakh in 2021 but would get only Rs 10 lakh under the plan.
