Gurgaon man questions ₹50,000 ‘affordable’ rent for 3BHK: ‘Salaries haven’t increased this fast’

A Gurgaon resident on Reddit questioned the affordability of 3BHK rents, citing prices of ₹50,000 per month on Golf Course Extension Road and ₹60,000+ in central Gurgaon sectors.

The man highlighted that a ₹50,000 monthly rent amounts to ₹6 lakh annually, plus maintenance, electricity, and other expenses, totaling ₹7 lakh+ per year.

He said brokers repeatedly advised him to increase his budget, with each requested increase of ₹5,000 adding ₹60,000 annually.

The user argued that salaries have not increased at the same pace as rents, making it difficult for middle-class families to justify such housing costs.
