Ex-Cong MLA Rajpal Bhukhri dies after heart attack

Former Congress MLA from Sadhaura (SC) assembly constituency in Yamunanagar, Rajpal Bhukhri, died of a heart attack on July 21, 2026, at age 55.

Bhukhri suffered severe chest pain at his residence after returning from his morning walk and was declared dead at a nearby hospital.

He was a prominent Dalit leader from the Yamunanagar region, born on May 19, 1972, and survived by his wife, one son, and one daughter.

Bhukhri won the Sadhaura seat in 2009 on a Congress ticket, defeating INLD's Balwant Singh by 47,263 votes, but lost to BJP's Balwant Singh in 2014.
