Youth beaten to death near Parvati; five detained

Shubham Raju Ghodke, 22, a resident of Charwad Vasti, Vadgaon Budruk, was beaten to death near Vrindavan Nursery, Panmala, off Sinhagad Road.

The attack occurred around 9 pm on Saturday while Ghodke was returning from the Anna Bhau Sathe Jayanti procession.

A group of three to four unidentified persons formed an unlawful assembly and assaulted Ghodke with kicks and punches.

Police detained five individuals; a search for three juveniles is ongoing.

A case was registered under Sections 103(1), 115(2), 189(2), 190, and 191(2) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) against eight unidentified accused.
