Maharashtra Gets ₹335 Crore Centre Grant For Agriculture; First State To Qualify For Second RKVY Instalment
Maharashtra is the first state to qualify for the second instalment of funds under the Pradhan Mantri Rashtriya Krishi Vikas Yojana (PM-RKVY), receiving ₹335 crore from the Centre.
Union Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan approved the grant after Maharashtra utilized over 75% of allocated RKVY funds and 81.73% of Mission for Integrated Development of Horticulture (MIDH) funds.
Including Maharashtra's 40% matching contribution of ₹223 crore, a total of ₹558 crore is available for agricultural development in the state.
Funds will be used for micro-irrigation, farm mechanisation, organic farming, soil health management, and other RKVY projects.
Maharashtra also requested ₹377 crore over three years for fruit and vegetable production in Nashik ahead of the 2027 Kumbh Mela and an additional ₹500 crore for agricultural mechanisation.
