Spokane County power outage map, updates: Avista customers hardest hit as wildfire forces evacuations

A wildfire named the Old Trails Fire spread to approximately 2,300 acres in Spokane County by Saturday night, forcing evacuations.

Avista Corporation reported over 30,000 customers without power, and Inland Power & Light reported more than 10,000 outages as of 9 p.m. local time.

Level 3 evacuation orders are in effect for areas bordered by Rutter Road, Strong Road, the Spokane River, and Division Street.

An evacuation shelter opened at Spokane Falls Community College's small gymnasium, and an animal shelter at the Spokane County Fairgrounds.

The fire jumped the Spokane River and spread into northwest Spokane, with residents reporting rapidly expanding evacuations.
