Chandigarh court convicts man in 2021 drug case, rejects planted recovery claim

Special court judge Raman Goklaney convicted Kuldeep Singh under Section 20 of the NDPS Act for possessing 750 grams of charas.

Kuldeep Singh was sentenced to 18 months rigorous imprisonment and a fine of ₹20,000.

The prosecution examined nine witnesses; the court found the recovery proved beyond reasonable doubt with an unbroken chain of custody.

The defence claimed the charas was planted, citing CCTV videos, but the court rejected the electronic evidence as it was not original.
