Para shot putter Sharmila wins gold at CWG 2026; weightlifter Ajaya Babu and high jumper Sarvesh Kushare take silver

Para shot putter Sharmila Dhankar won a gold medal in the women's shot put F57 final with a throw of 9.81m at the 2026 Commonwealth Games.

Sarvesh Anil Kushare won a silver medal in the men's high jump final with a best distance of 2.26m.

Weightlifter Valluri Ajaya Babu won a silver medal in the men's 79kg category with a total lift of 330kg, missing gold by 1kg to Malaysia's Erry Hidayat Muhammad.

Shilpa K Shyla won a bronze medal in the women's shot put F57 final with a throw of 7.26m.

India's medal tally reached 10, with six medals coming from weightlifting.
