Relief package announced for flood-hit Palghar and Vasai-Virar civic body

The state relief and rehabilitation department announced an aid package for flood-hit Palghar district and Vasai-Virar Municipal Corporation (VVCMC) after 23 deaths in July 2026 rainfall.

Compensation for fully destroyed houses is ₹1.50 lakh; partial damage aid ranges from ₹15,000 to ₹50,000 based on damage percentage.

Families get ₹10,000 each for clothes and household articles lost, plus aid for livestock: ₹40,000 for milch animals, ₹32,000 for draught animals, etc.

Fishermen in Palghar receive compensation for boat and net damage; artisans, handloom workers, and shopkeepers get up to 75% of loss based on panchanama.

Relief will be transferred directly to bank accounts after verification; Palghar collectorate urged affected citizens to cooperate with assessment.
