Three Panchkula bizmen get extortion calls, provided security

Three Panchkula businessmen—a nightclub operator, a liquor contractor, and a commission agent—received extortion calls demanding ₹5 crore from unknown international numbers.

Callers warned the Swiss Lounge partner to 'fall in line' or face the same fate as Rattan Lubana, who was critically injured in a June 4 firing.

Police deployed two armed security personnel for each businessman around the clock and installed the Abhedya app on their phones to block calls from unknown foreign numbers.

Earlier, police had provided security to nearly half a dozen businessmen, including Rattan Lubana, his family, nightclub owners, and liquor contractors, following earlier extortion threats.

Investigators plan to bring gangster Shakeel Ansari from Rajasthan on a production warrant in early August.
