Karnataka high court quashes 10-acre acquisition, cites fraud & records’ tampering

The Karnataka high court quashed the acquisition of over 10 acres of land in Bengaluru South taluk, citing fraud, suppression of material facts, and manipulation of official records.

The acquisition had been proposed for the Ex-servicemen House Building Cooperative Society in Hosahalli village.

A division bench of Justices DK Singh and TM Nadaf allowed an appeal by landowner V Sreenivasaiah, setting aside a February 2025 order that had dismissed his petition.

The court noted that the GVK Rao committee had recommended dropping the acquisition due to irregularities, and the special land acquisition officer stated records were unavailable.
