Amid investors’ preference for Greater Noida, UP shifts GBC-5 focus to Bundelkhand

Uttar Pradesh government is shifting the focus of the fifth Ground Breaking Ceremony (GBC-5), scheduled for November, from Greater Noida to Bundelkhand to promote investment in regions with abundant land.
Industrial development minister Nand Gopal Gupta 'Nandi' said additional concessions will be announced for entrepreneurs setting up units in B-category towns across the state.
The government has earmarked Greater Noida primarily for data centres and IT companies, while Bundelkhand is a key focus for pharma and solar power plants due to availability of large land parcels.
Bundelkhand is one of the six nodes of the Defence Industrial Corridor, and the government aims to attract more investment there.
According to Invest UP, of the 16,000+ proposals received, more than 8,000 projects have already started commercial operations.
