IIT-JEE topper Rajesh Gopakumar chose Physics over Computer Science

Rajesh Gopakumar topped the 1987 IIT-JEE with AIR 1 and chose Pure Physics over Computer Science.

He earned a PhD at Princeton under Nobel Laureate David Gross and co-discovered the Gopakumar-Vafa Duality at Harvard.

Gopakumar returned to India to lead ICTS-TIFR Bengaluru, building research infrastructure for young scientists.
