2 pilgrims from Amritsar killed, thirteen injured after bus overturns in Bilaspur

Two pilgrims from Amritsar, identified as Hitesh Kumar (24) and Kavya (15), were killed when their bus overturned near Shahtalai on the Deotsidh-Shahtalai road on the Bilaspur-Hamirpur border.

Thirteen others were injured in the accident, which occurred around 9 pm on Sunday while the bus was returning from Baba Balaknath temple with 35 passengers.

Bilaspur district administration, police, and health department teams conducted relief operations; one victim died on the spot and another succumbed in hospital.

Seriously injured passengers were referred to PGIMER Chandigarh and Regional Hospital Hamirpur; others were treated at Civil Hospital Barsar.

Bilaspur administration provided immediate relief of ₹1,08,500, with ₹25,000 granted to the families of each deceased and the remainder distributed among the injured.
