A four-year-old boy was allegedly operated on the wrong leg at Shaheed Hasan Khan Mewati Government Medical College and Hospital (SHKM) in Nalhar, Nuh.
The family claimed doctors operated on the healthy right leg instead of the infected left leg on Thursday.
After the family objected, the child was taken back into the operation theatre and the infected left leg was operated on.
SHKM director Mukesh Kumar confirmed a probe was initiated on July 25, 2026, after a complaint from the father, Arif.
No FIR has been registered; police will decide based on the inquiry committee's findings.
