Taste of Life: When service is the highest form of devotion

The annual pilgrimage known as 'waari' takes place before Ashadhi Ekadashi, with palkhis from Alandi and Dehu heading to Pandharpur.

Devotees called warkaris travel in organized groups known as 'dindis', often divided by caste, family, village, or gender.

In early twentieth-century Pune, actor Ganpatrao Joshi arranged a meal for a dindi of 125 warkaris who approached him while he was at the Aryabhushan Theatre.
