Pune: Vrikshaaropan Abhiyans Phase II Begins At Army Cantonment

Tenneco Clean Air India Limited, Vaghmi Foundation, and the Indian Army launched Phase II of the Vrikshaaropan Abhiyan in Pune, committing to plant 14,000 native saplings across India by end of financial year.

Phase II includes 5,000 trees planted and maintained by Vaghmi Foundation at Army Cantonment land in Pune, and 9,000 saplings across Pune and Gurugram with Times Employ India Foundation.

The initiative aims to improve urban biodiversity, enhance air quality, reduce heat island effects, restore degraded ecosystems, and contribute to climate resilience.

Phase I planted 5,000 native trees at the same Army land, which continue to be scientifically maintained by Vaghmi Foundation.
