in5points
Heavy rains washed away a temporary steel access bridge over the Ulhas River, part of the Mumbai-Ahmedabad Bullet Train project.
The bridge was used to transport machinery, materials, and workers for construction of the permanent railway bridge between Diva and Bhiwandi.
No casualties were reported as no workers were on the bridge when it was damaged, according to NHSRCL.
Construction halted and may be delayed by a few months until a new temporary bridge is built.
