Marvel cancels Wonder Man Season 2

Marvel Studios canceled Wonder Man Season 2 on Disney+, reversing an earlier renewal announced in March.

The show starred Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, who received an Emmy nomination for his performance.

Variety reported that the writers were released and a writer's room for Season 2 never opened.

Wonder Man holds a 91% critics' score on Rotten Tomatoes, but Nielsen data showed it fell out of the streaming top 10 after its premiere week.

The cancellation may reflect Marvel Studios' strategy of limiting most Disney+ series to one season, with Loki being a rare exception.
