Nancy Guthrie update: Ex-FBI agent asks investigators to learn a lesson from 40-year-old Thelma Gaston case

Retired FBI Special Agent Jennifer Coffindaffer called for more searches for Nancy Guthrie, citing the 40-year-old Thelma Gaston case as proof that old missing cases can still be solved.

Thelma Gaston, an 80-year-old millionaire, went missing in 1981 and her remains were later found near Sugarloaf Mountain; her paramour Lawrence Remsen was convicted of murder.

Nancy Guthrie, 84, disappeared from her home in Catalina Foothills, Arizona on January 31, and is believed to have been abducted on February 1.

The Pima County Sheriff’s Department and the FBI continue to investigate Nancy Guthrie's disappearance with no suspect identified yet.

Coffindaffer previously urged authorities to update billboards with recent images of a masked individual seen in doorbell footage near Guthrie's home.
