Bangladesh gas supply hit as LNG terminal partially shuts

A partial shutdown at Excelerate Energy's floating LNG terminal near Moheshkhali removed about 450 million cubic feet per day from Bangladesh's national grid.

State-owned Petrobangla said engineers are working to fix the fault, which could take up to two days to resume normal operations.

The disruption is expected to worsen gas shortages for households and industries in Bangladesh.

Global LNG supplies are already tight due to the U.S.-Israeli war on Iran, which has affected Qatar's export capacity and shipping through the Strait of Hormuz.
