EV Startup River to Build Manufacturing Plant in Karnataka's Whitefield

EV startup River finalized a land parcel in Whitefield, Karnataka, for its new manufacturing plant.

The new manufacturing plant will increase River's capacity to 5 lakh units per year, up from 1 lakh units.

River had been evaluating options in Karnataka, Telangana, Tamil Nadu, and Andhra Pradesh for its second and largest plant.

The company is gearing up to raise around Rs 800 crore from Anicut Capital, Claypond Capital, Elev8, and others.

River introduced its first product, the Indie electric scooter, in October 2023, designed and developed in Bengaluru.
