RTI Reveals Lack Of Integrated C&D Waste Management System In Navi Mumbai, Activists Raise Concerns

An RTI filed by Sajag Nagrik Manch revealed CIDCO has no integrated C&D waste management system in Navi Mumbai.

CIDCO's response stated that information on an official debris disposal policy, authorised dumping sites, and processing plants was not available.

CIDCO officials said debris disposal is handled through project-specific contract clauses, with debris often directed to low-lying areas.

The Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation (NMMC) allegedly did not respond to the same RTI within the statutory period.

Activists demand a joint debris management policy for CIDCO and NMMC, including authorised sites, a 'Debris on Call' service, and a digital tracking system.
