Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann approved an increase of ₹40 per kilogram of fat in the milk procurement rate.
The procurement rate for cow milk rose from ₹810 to ₹850 per kilogram of fat, and for buffalo milk from ₹850 to ₹890 per kilogram of fat.
The revised rates are effective retrospectively from July 21, 2026.
The decision followed a meeting with the Progressive Dairy Farmers’ Association, which cited rising cattle feed and input costs.
The hike aims to provide financial relief to dairy farmers in Punjab.
