EU sanctions accuse Dvorkovich of using his FIDE position to promote Russian government interests amid the war in Ukraine.

Dvorkovich voluntarily suspended his duties to avoid hindering FIDE's functioning while he challenges the sanctions.

Anand, previously FIDE deputy president, assumes responsibility to ensure continuity and serve the global chess community.
