Red Alert In Pune; Khadakwasla Dam To Release 45,000 Cusecs, Flood Warning Issued

Water Resources Department increased Khadakwasla Dam discharge to 45,000 cusecs due to continuous inflows and persistent rainfall in catchment area.

Kiran Deshmukh, Executive Engineer, Khadakwasla Irrigation Division, announced the release and appealed for precautions.

Residents along the Mutha River, especially in Ekta Nagar, face flood risk as discharge crossed 30,000 cusecs; advised to stay away from riverbank.

India Meteorological Department issued a Red Alert for Pune district; authorities monitoring and coordinating with emergency response agencies.

Administration appealed to citizens to avoid river areas, waterlogged spots, and follow advisories; vulnerable residents urged to stay vigilant.
