Pune RTO fines 2,684 vehicles for HSRP violations

Pune RTO penalised 2,684 vehicle owners between July 1 and July 16, 2026 for HSRP violations.
The enforcement targets vehicles registered before April 1, 2019 that lack High Security Registration Plates (HSRP).
As of July 16, 1,169,023 HSRP orders placed, 1,163,333 appointments scheduled, and 956,347 vehicles fitted.
Deputy RTO Swapnil Bhosale said the drive aims to improve vehicle identification and curb fake plates.
