MP high court stays ₹350 crore school uniform tender, seeks govt response

Madhya Pradesh High Court stayed a ₹350 crore tender for school uniforms for 5.2 million students in government primary and middle schools.

The stay followed a petition by the Jabalpur Apparel Innovation and Manufacturing Association challenging restrictive eligibility conditions.

Conditions included mandatory annual turnover of ₹700 crore for spinning mills and ₹233 crore for garment manufacturers, excluding MSMEs, powerloom units, weavers, and self-help groups.

The court directed the state government to file a reply within a week; the tender cannot be finalised until then.
