US crude bound for Israel for first time since 2023

A US crude oil cargo is heading to Israel for the first time since October 2023.
The Malta-flagged Aframax tanker Captain John loaded around 550,000 barrels of West Texas Intermediate crude at Enbridge's Ingleside terminal in Texas.
The shipment is chartered by global trading house Vitol and is bound for Israel's southern port of Ashkelon.
The shipment occurs amid the US-Israel conflict with Iran, which began on February 28 and has disrupted shipping through the Strait of Hormuz.
