‘Don't want to be blamed’: SC wants details on rape convict Asaram's health as he seeks interim bail

Rape convict Asaram is seeking interim bail from the Supreme Court on medical grounds.

Rajasthan government's lawyer told the SC that Asaram has bleeding due to a gastro problem, but it appears temporary and he is taking medicine.

The SC bench remarked it does not want to be blamed for any untoward incident and asked the state to take proper instructions on Asaram's health.

Asaram was granted temporary release three months ago to seek treatment and visited Ayodhya and Kashi Vishwanath.

The SC has posted the matter for hearing on July 21 and directed the state to file an affidavit by July 20.
