Google rolls out sovereign AI stack for India’s regulated sectors

Google is launching a sovereign AI stack for India’s regulated sectors, including defence, government, and critical infrastructure.

The stack includes in-country processing and inference for Gemini 3.5 Flash, ensuring AI workloads and data remain within India.

Google is also bringing Gemini on Google Distributed Cloud, enabling fully air-gapped deployments disconnected from the public internet.

Richard Seroter, chief evangelist at Google Cloud, stated that most enterprises will still prefer public cloud with in-country data controls for scalability.

India is now among Google’s top three developer ecosystems worldwide, and AI is transforming developers into orchestrators of code.
