Dilapidated Zilla Parishad School Classroom Collapses In Beed

A classroom roof and wall collapsed at Zilla Parishad Secondary School in Therla, Patoda tehsil, Beed, on Thursday night; no casualties as school was closed.

The school, built in 1965, has five structurally unsafe classrooms; construction of five new classrooms is incomplete and lacks blackboards and seating.

Headmaster Pratap Kale and the School Management Committee had repeatedly requested repairs before monsoon, but no action was taken.

Social activist Dr Ganesh Dhavale demanded a structural audit and fund allocation for new classrooms via the District Annual Plan.

School Management Committee Chairman Ganesh Rakh alleged official apathy and warned of potential loss of life if urgent action is not taken.
