‘Beginning of the end’ for BJP: Oppn MP's 4-point attack as Prashant Kishor leads in Bihar's Bankipur bypoll

TMC's Derek O'Brien called the Bankipur bypoll result the 'beginning of the end' for BJP, citing a four-point scenario.

Jan Suraaj Party founder Prashant Kishor led BJP candidate Neeraj Kumar Sinha by over 12,800 votes, with Kishor polling 44,525 votes as of 3:30 pm.

The bypoll was necessitated after former BJP MLA Nitin Nabin vacated the seat following his election to the Upper House.

BJP initially fielded Abhishek Kumar Sinha, who withdrew his nomination; later Neeraj Kumar Sinha was nominated.

Bankipur has been a BJP bastion for over three decades, with Nitin Nabin representing it for around two decades.
