'Spaceballs: The New One' star Rick Moranis receives standing ovation

Rick Moranis received a standing ovation at San Diego Comic-Con 2026 while promoting 'Spaceballs: The New One' in his Dark Helmet costume.

Moranis returns to acting after a hiatus since 1997, following his wife's death and time away to raise his children.

The sequel is directed by Josh Greenbaum and stars Rick Moranis, Josh Gad, Keke Palmer, Lewis Pullman, Bill Pullman, Mel Brooks, George Wyner, and Daphne Zuniga.

'Spaceballs: The New One' is scheduled for theatrical release on April 23, 2027.
