UP approves ₹943 crore for Harnandipuram township in Ghaziabad

  1. The Uttar Pradesh state government approved ₹943.37 crore on July 31 for the development of Harnandipuram Township in Ghaziabad, with the first instalment of ₹400 crore already received.

  2. The Ghaziabad Development Authority (GDA) will match the state's investment, with a total of about ₹2,600 crore allocated for land purchase.

  3. The township will cover approximately 501 hectares across eight villages, including Mathurapur, Shamsher, Champat Nagar, Bhaneda Khurd, Nagla Firoz Mohanpur, Bhovapur, Shahpur Nij Morta, and Morta.

  4. The first phase of the township, on 49 hectares, is slated to launch by September or October after a detailed project report is prepared.

  5. The GDA plans to build a six-kilometre, four-lane outer ring road at about ₹90 crore to connect the township to the Hindon elevated road.
