Woman kills husband over saree dispute

Sunita Singh killed her husband Harinam Singh by striking him on the head with a pressure cooker and strangling him.

The murder occurred on Sunday after Harinam Singh failed to buy Sunita Singh a saree she had demanded for several days.

Sunita Singh initially claimed Harinam Singh died of a heart attack, but the post-mortem revealed multiple injury marks on his head and neck.

The couple's 7-year-old son witnessed the crime and testified against his mother, leading to her arrest on Tuesday.

Sunita Singh was remanded in police custody till July 29; the motive is being investigated further.
