'Bangladesh uprising that was taken over by Jihadis': What CJP protest reminded Taslima Nasreen of

Taslima Nasreen, exiled Bangladeshi author, said a clip of the student protest at Jantar Mantar reminded her of the 2024 Bangladesh student uprising that led to the ouster of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.

Nasreen claimed the 2024 Bangladesh protests fooled people, as they appeared to be against the quota system, but later it was found that jihadis (Islamic fundamentalists) were behind it and have taken over power in Bangladesh.

Nasreen said she is concerned about such movements due to the fallout in Bangladesh after the 2024 student protest.

Nasreen backed Sheikh Hasina, saying the manner in which she was forced to leave Bangladesh was questionable, and opposes the ban on the Awami League in Bangladesh.

Nasreen wants the ban on Awami League lifted and Hasina to return to Bangladesh, noting that Hasina's party workers have faced violence in Bangladesh.
