Bharathiraja's long-delayed 'Kuttra Parambarai' is being adapted as a Rs 50 crore web series directed by Sasikumar.

The web series stars Sathyaraj in a pivotal role, with screenplay by Rathna Kumar.

The adaptation of Vela Ramamoorthy's novel was previously stalled due to rights controversies and copyright debates.

Following Bharathiraja's passing in June 2026, the project is revived as a web series instead of a feature film.

The Rs 50 crore budget and expansive narrative are expected to make it one of Tamil entertainment's biggest literary adaptations.
