Zelenskyy ousts Ukraine’s popular defence minister behind drone campaign in govt shake-up

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy dismissed Defence Minister Mykhailo Fedorov in a government shake-up.

Fedorov was the face of Ukraine's successful drone campaign against Russia.

Ukraine conducted near-daily strikes deep inside Russian territory, damaging energy and supply infrastructure.

Fedorov clashed with Ukrainian generals over strategic and tactical aspects of the war.

Fedorov’s approach was driven by “speed of innovation, and the power of organisation”.
