16 Maoists, with six carrying ₹39 lakh bounty, surrender before Jharkhand Police

Maoists surrendered before Jharkhand Police, six carrying a combined bounty of ₹39 lakh.

Santosh Mahto alias Basudev Da alias Dilip, a regional committee member of CPI, was among those who surrendered, wanted in 128 cases with a ₹15 lakh reward.

The Maoists laid down six INSAS and two AK-47 rifles, along with 38 magazines and 1,562 cartridges.

Jharkhand DGP Tadasha Mishra called the surrender a big achievement for the state police.

In 2026, 93 Maoists were arrested, 45 surrendered, and 22 were killed in encounters across Jharkhand.
