Punjab official’s suicide: Ex-minister Laljit Bhullar denied bail

Laljit Singh Bhullar, AAP MLA from Patti and former transport minister, was denied bail by an Amritsar court in connection with the suicide of Gagandeep Singh Randhawa.

Randhawa, a 45-year-old official of the Punjab State Warehousing Corporation, died by suicide at his residence in Amritsar on March 21 after consuming poison.

Before his death, Randhawa recorded a 12-second video stating he took the extreme step out of fear of Bhullar.

Police filed a 500-page chargesheet against Bhullar on May 20 under charges of abetment to suicide and destruction of evidence.

Only Bhullar has been arrested among the three accused, which include his father Sukhdev Singh Bhullar and personal assistant Dilbag Singh.
