Indian stabbed 15 times in a mall in US over his religion: Reports

Indian man Syed Sohailuddin was stabbed 15 times in Valley City Mall, West Valley City, Utah.

Suspect Peter Michael Larsen asked the victim his religion before assaulting him.

Larsen was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder and carrying a dangerous weapon; he told police he targeted the victim over religious beliefs.

Larsen stated he intends to kill Muslims, and an affidavit argued his release would be dangerous.

The Indian consulate in San Francisco is in contact with the victim's family and local authorities.
