Auto driver injured in metro slab crash awaits compensation six months on

Autorickshaw driver Rajkumar Yadav, 43, was injured when a concrete parapet from Metro Line 4 crashed onto his auto on LBS Marg in Mulund on February 14.

His relative Ramdhani Yadav died in the accident; another relative, Mahendra Yadav, was seriously injured.

Yadav's left hand has limited movement, he can walk only 200-300 metres, and his immunity has weakened.

Contractor Milan Road Buildtech continues to bear his medical expenses but has reduced grocery supply and stopped rent support after his discharge.

The family now pays ₹8,500 rent in a flat in Nalasopara, up from ₹3,000 in a chawl.
