Granger was the first woman to serve as Fort Worth's mayor and the first Republican woman elected to represent Texas in the U.S. House.
She chaired the House Appropriations Committee, a role she held as the first Republican woman to do so.
An official cause of death has not been provided, but she had faced health challenges, including dementia issues, according to her son Brandon Granger.
