MMRDA has completed 90% of the Mahalaxmi Multimodal Hub, integrating monorail, Metro Line 3 (Aqua Line), and suburban railway.
The travelator-equipped skywalk will handle 4,500 passengers per hour and reduce interchange time by nearly 20 minutes.
The project includes a 283-metre skywalk, 11-metre-wide bridge, six travelators (176 metres total), and two passenger lifts for accessibility.
Engineers relocated a 1,800-mm diameter stormwater drain and kept water and sewer pipelines operational during construction.
The Mahalaxmi interchange will be India's first public travelator-equipped skywalk connecting metro, monorail, and suburban rail.
