Amid sewerage work, Kharar-Landran road a nightmare for motorists in Mohali

Kharar-Landran road in Mohali remains riddled with potholes, waterlogging, and traffic snarls nearly a year after commuters raised concerns.

Underground sewerage works have delayed permanent road restoration, with worst-hit portions near Khuni Majra and stretches approaching Landran.

Overflowing sewerage water during rains makes it hard to distinguish road surface from potholes, causing safety risks and vehicle damage.

Kharar civic body executive officer Ashok Pathria said the sewage treatment plant at Khuni Majra is 95% complete, pending electricity connection.

Road repairs are expected to finish by August 31, 2026, after which beautification will begin; Mohali additional deputy commissioner Anmol Dhaliwal cited NHAI clearance delays.
