Tejas Shirse, a 24-year-old hurdler from Maharashtra, recovered from a serious ankle injury suffered in late 2025 that left multiple ankle ligaments badly stretched.
He broke the national record in the 110m hurdles with a time of 13.27 seconds at the Indian Athletics Series in June 2026, which also earned him a Commonwealth Games spot.
The time exactly matched the first item on a manifestation list he had written on his iPad.
His next goal is to win a gold medal at the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow.
His coach instructed him to exhaust himself in the gym daily during rehabilitation, as he could not hurdle or sprint.
