930,000 farmers to begin getting loan waiver benefit from Tuesday

The government will disburse loan waiver funds to over 930,000 eligible farmers starting Tuesday, as announced by a senior cooperation department official.

The total waiver amounts to over ₹41,268 crore for 5.45 million farmers, with 2.8 million having outstanding crop loans up to ₹2 lakh eligible for full waiver.

Around 94,083 farmers were found ineligible as they are income-tax payers.

The first tranche is expected to be over ₹6,000 crore for farmers who completed e-KYC; 40% of 1.69 million farmers in the first list haven't completed e-KYC yet.

CM Devendra Fadnavis will launch the first tranche; agriculture minister Dattatray Bharne urged eligible farmers to complete e-KYC without delay.
